One Day Introduction to Artistic Welding

Step into the studio for a full day of sparks, sculpture, and hands-on learning.
We are not currently scheduling one-day workshops. We are focusing our schedule on our two-day weekend workshop, which offers the most complete beginner experience.

If you’d like to be notified if shorter-format classes return, please join our mailing list below.

Curious about artistic welding?

Currently Not Scheduled

At this time, we are not scheduling one-day welding workshops.

We have chosen to focus on our two-day beginner workshop, which allows students more time in the studio to develop skills, practice techniques, and complete a fully realized metal sculpture.

If you are interested in shorter-format workshops in the future, we invite you to join our mailing list to be notified of any updates.

In the meantime, our two-day workshop remains open for registration and is designed specifically for beginners with no prior experience.

Why learn to weld?

Ready to dive into artistic welding—whether for fun, creative release, or the start of something bigger?

When you know how to shape metal, you can build just about anything: a bold sculpture, custom garden art, a one-of-a-kind table—or even a new career.

Welding isn’t just sparks and steel. It’s creativity in motion—hands-on, expressive, and surprisingly meditative. You don’t need to be in a factory or an art school to do this.

In these workshops, you’ll get messy, explore design, learn real skills, and walk away with the confidence to keep going. Small class size, full support, and practical tips—even for setting up at home.

Let’s fire it up.

Heads up: artistic welding is hands-on and physically active. Expect to spend time on your feet, reaching, handling tools like hammers and tin snips, and operating equipment such as handheld grinders, plasma cutters, and weld wands. We’ll kick things off with a thorough safety walkthrough and detailed instruction on how to use all tools and machines properly. Fume extractors help keep dust and fumes from plasma cutting, welding, and grinding under control—but let’s be real, metalworking is gritty by nature. A little dirt comes with the territory!
Where the heck is Harrington? Closer than you think!
